Blizzard in Tennessee!

News of a big storm on the way caused the Rutherford County Schools to send the kids home from school an hour early Friday afternoon. It was raining at the time.

It started snowing at about 7 or 8 pm.

A bit comical for our family, having lived in much snowier climates in Minnesota and Washington. But there was no complaint from the kids.

Anna Makes A Snowman

You'll have to ignore the date stamp....I didn't know it was turned on until it was too late.

The snow really occured on March 7th. The biggest snowstorm all year.

All bundled up in leftover Minnesota winter gear, Anna sets out trying to make a snowman. She doesn't let lack of snow discourage her for too long.

Though she does seek a little help from a more experienced sister. Sara helps her at least get the first snowball.

Nothing like a little sibling cooperation!

The Snow Angel

Sara demonstrates her extra bit of snow experience.
Evidenced here be the extremely cold skill of making a snow angel.
In 1 inch of snow!

Snowball Fight!!! ...Sort of....

So much for the sibling cooperation!

Sara attempts to start a snowball fight.

Oh, but you need more snow to keep it going for long.

Oh, Well!

A Little Snow Saucer-ing!

Aletta, or "Bugsy" if you prefer, attempted to use her snow saucer. Unfortunately, the biggest hill is our driveway. Not much for buildling up speed.

But fun nonetheless.

Note the missing teeth.

Just Getting Started!

Taking the example of so many friends, we've created this blog to help keep distant family and friends updated on what our we're doing.

I just hope we don't increase our family size, or move out of Tennessee...or we'll have to change the name of the blog!

We have lots to tell everyone about, so stay tuned.

Heart Attack!!!

A few weeks ago, Leah, Rachel, and other 12-year-old girls from church spent Sunday afternoon "heart attacking" a few girls they hadn't seen at church recently.

As you can see, they look a little confused about the process...they have the hearts taped all over their arms, instead of the girl's door.

Rachel's Basketball

Rachel has been busy on Saturdays, playing basketball with other 6th graders in a Jr. Pro League. Its an effort to keep up on her basketball skills, and enjoy playing the game with friends.

Yesterday her team won 36-12. Rachel had 7 points.
